Commemorative Earth Day art presented to Pres. Mason

A student-crafted art print commemorating the 40th anniversary of Earth Day was presented to University of Iowa President, Sally Mason, Tuesday, April 26, 2010. Grace Sippy, a University of Iowa senior graduating next month with a BFA in printmaking, was selected by the Office of Sustainability to create an Earth Day-related piece.
According to Sippy, she chose the woodcut print because of its direct connection to nature.
"The wood grains are visible in the piece and give it a beautiful texture that cannot be man-made," said Sippy.
Sippy's print is the first annual commemorative Earth Day art work commissioned by the UI Office of Sustainability.
